Smokes by Sabrina Wadsworth

Death,

Clinging to my fingertips

With captivating glow

It seduces my lips

Slowly trickling along my tongue

Smoke muffled every whimper

Pulling it deep inside me

Convinced life can be simpler

Ashes lace the floor

Hiding indiscretions

The embers thrive to burn

It’s an ending with no redemption
