Sipping on Strawberry Wine
She can't help who she is, the way she feels inside
It’s hard to find the reasons why while sipping on strawberry wine
She tries her hardest to make people smile, she fails at every turn
Just too damn hard to understand when no one speaks a word
She shakes her head, shrugs off the thought, wishing, hoping, and dreaming
To know the past of better days that get lost when trying to find the meaning
Swirls of colors surround her life, as she sings a love song for one
If she closes her eyes just one more time on the quest to find true love
No bother, nothing at all. she should think of what truly matters
Never mind today’s not the day when life is torn and tattered
Lost in the past, too much to handle, so she listens for the beat
When traveling alone this life gets hard to stand alone on your feet
She listens to the wind, whispering in her ear, she struggles to find the words
She enters the stream to wash away the tears she finds to be absurd
Sometimes things just can't be undone, and others call for just one more
A chance at life, just one more time, to know what love is for
All around her, surrounded by blue chasing the wind that sings
She tried her best, failed the test on what life truly means
The days pass by with no avail, longing to know the truth and why
She just settles in the meadows above sipping on strawberry wine…
"Let me paint you a picture - a picture with words"
Thank you, Lord, for the gift of writing poetry!

Heartbreaking as one lingers to know the truth. Standing alone...remembering the past.
