Simply Thought Instead

I said I’m just a simple man
“No you’re not” cried a very sure voice
You abandoned laughter for tears
Because you forgot you had a choice

But I didn’t forget, I just provide two sides
Even when I’m stuck on only one point of view
I’ll make up my mind when I’m able
But I’m wiser when I hear a word from you

If you wonder what it is I’m thinking
Maybe what it is, is that I’m really feeling
Words get in the way sometimes
Paint it walls instead where only colors climb

Yes I’m simple but I think for hours
You can’t help but pause at every intersection
Of truth and how it makes you feel
Tell me so I won’t have to use my imagination
