Silence of Death

I'm a caregiver and an artist. I received high honors in creative writing, fine arts, and sculpture at Montserrat College of Art.

Silence of Death

I hear a voice call out.

It rings out and echoes.

It is everywhere.

But it is nowhere.

Silence...

A ringing, ring, ringing finds my ears.

It twirls around my head.

I feel darkness overtaking me.
A nightmare begins.

Silence...

Slowly crawling, creeping, slicing.

Silence...

I hear a voice call out again.

Louder...

Louder it breaks through to my mind. Bending space and time.

Louder...

It crashes. Penetrating nightmares and cutting through the silence.

It's my passion for you that catches the waves and feels the vibes.

Your voice carries, reaching out to find me.

Louder...

Louder the roar of my beating heart pounds and like a lion pounces about.

Louder it screams back to you pledging its undying love.

Louder it cries, reaching out, longing for you.

But all that's left for me is

Silence...

Silence of Death
