Short Poem: Gravity
Nick's a graduate of USF, where he studied English and Philosophy. He also attended Columbia University's MFA Creative Writing program.
Gravity
Interspersed with brick walls.
I’m forgetting why the branch spreads itself out.
My dependence resembles a child wearing a paper crown
in the grocery aisle, scolding mom
for not buying another candy bar.
Forgetting why the river splits:
what holds me here is what
keeps the sun just close enough,
what keeps the sun just far enough.
