Shoetrees: A Whimsical Poem
encompassing a widish beachfront
that espouses a torchlit moat,
with woodry willow herbs running in rows of four
grows saprophytic shoetrees
that bedives a barnstorm,
granting joy upon the willowy boughs
Look to the flowering mounds of white orchids,
within lies one’s dross and treasure trove.
Beware of the haze over the land of capriciousness
and don’t forget your owing dues
Howling winds are wild about the windmill up yonder,
whose spinning blades are on the point of escape.
It’s a Groundhog Day,
But let us not refute it
Keep following the path of sunburnt maple leaves.
Do not stray into the bushes of contriteness.
Cry if you must,
but then, croon your heart’s melody to the mystic moon
Thank you for stopping by. Please feel free to comment.
