She's Not a Snowflake
what is it you love
to be love or to love him
you gave it a chance
the only choice to go all in
you are not a snowflake
only a beating heart
a garden
wet hair, chilled bones
beautiful in any storm
underwater you swim
muted, quiet for dreams
under a stage in darkness
while the crowd screams
your roots so deep
enough to withstand life
that is your strength
aware of so many things
unsure what it means
a hang-over of sorrow
an empty heart, filled again
something beautiful misplaced
betrayed by a friend
how can i start the music
for you, something special
but i’m so weak
unworthy of your past
afraid to pierce your skin
