She Waits: A Poem

Author:

I'm an amateur writer, and I enjoy sharing my tips and steps with you guys.

She Waits By The River

She waits by the river, every evening before night fall

this is where they'd promised they'd meet, and she always wanted to keep that promise

but it's been two years, and he still hasn't made it back

still... she waits

because she knows what life can do to a person, the vile and twisted way of the world

and she has patience, never once losing hope

so, she sits by the river everyday, and that day she heard steps approaching

she's terrified but she turns around, her heart beating so fast

because he's here, her love is here

and they can be together at last.

Such a powerful statement is shown here.

Good read.
