She Led Me to God

Poetry is turning out to be a very cathartic medium, I should do this more often.

Sometimes you meet someone special that seems to encapsulate all of time and space.

Sometimes you meet someone special that seems to encapsulate all of time and space.

Laying in the sun I felt his embrace,

Warm and welcoming like nothing was wrong.

Sun-kissed cheeks glow red on my face,

And I want to be held all day long.

Responsibility arises by way of time,

So I came to my feet and energy gives rise,

To the poet within that gives reason to rhyme,

You can see determination within my melancholy eyes.

I see the future even through my tears,

Bright in love, hope, and passion.

The Gods are carrying me through all of my fears,

Even when despair is clearly in fashion.

Confusion gives way to unbridled clarity,

My strongest God is none other than lust.

Burning desire paves the path to prosperity,

And her glory is, "eternal or bust!"

Kiss me now, and kiss me deep,

Let me taste the life you've left behind.

Don't discount your value as cheap,

For I can appreciate the mountains you've climbed.

God Is Everywhere

It's amazing the dark places we can find ourselves wallowing in as we travel through life. Even more astonishing are the circumstances under which we find ourselves coming back to the idea of God. In moments of defeat blended with lust, I was led back into the arms of that savior hiding in my soul.

Yes, deep within my soul I've found that saving grace that will drag me from the depths of the despair I created. I'm finding it within those around me, as well, and I'm clinging to the light.
