Day ends silently,
The sun setting -
A last blush of colour
Behind a curtain of clouds.
This old house
Settles for the night
Creaking its ancient timbers
Arranging its worn and dusty parts
For the still watches of the night.
On the roof
Enveloping the night
In the thrumming of its steady beat.

You captured the loveliness of a sunset as the night approaches. I could almost hear the rain tapping on the rooftop when reading your poetry.
