Self Esteem

Self Esteem

Darkness turned to white

My eyes opened

Don’t know what happened

There were no more tears

What I saw

In the mirror made of water

Was no longer

No longer a human

Yellow and black

Striped all around

Long and Sharp

Claws, through my fingers

I was a beast

My own protector

The clear water turned to grey

Day became night

The white turned to darkness

And I was human again.

I totally agree with Ms Peggy Woods when she said this poem has powerful imagery. It truly has deep meaning as well. Great piece.
