Seeing Glass As Half-Full: A Poem
Seeing the glass half-empty is pessimists' view
while all optimists are likely to see it as half-full
and while both of the positions are equally true
they may mean attending a different life school.
We might say optimist has more rude wake up calls
as he, by definition, expects outcomes to be good
but in truth, no matter how many times he falls
he just gets up, with no change in his mood.
Thus, an optimist can afford to dream a lot
while even quantum physics is on his side
as by not fussing over what he hasn't got
his life is more likely to be a smooth ride.
Pessimist is realist of that hard core brand
too cautious, and oftentimes not trusting
like ostrich with his head in the sand
with stiff attitude poorly adjusting.
His prophecies of failure often get fulfilled
so that he can say: "All the time I knew it"
in a crazy way leaving him even thrilled
by not trying to succeed he just blew it.
So, by seeing proverbial glass half-full
we live our life with a bright expectation
even giving our good luck that extra pull
being driven by quite a daring motivation.
