Sankhajit Bhattacharjee Poem 96
Scientific Research Fellow in University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee
MONEY
Money, you do possess the eternal power
to purchase bungalows and cars,
even respect, love and prosperity.
Still you can never buy faith,
can never extinguish the flame of truth
and can never bring peace, hence happiness of mind.
You are unable to stop the cry of a mother,
who has lost her child.
You are unable to guide a person,
who has lost one’s ideology.
You are unable to rejuvenate the very spirit of creation
among artists, scientists, philosophers and social workers.
You are unable to bridge
the gap between poverty and richness.
But you can solely claim your ability in giving birth
to corruption, discrimination and turmoil.

So true Sankhajeet...
It has created a lot of negativities in the humankind
And the reality is that, people are ready to do anything just for money...
BRENDA ARLEDGE from Washington Court House on September 05, 2020:
Good one.
Money can't buy love they say...but it does seem to bring about corruption.
