Sankhajit Bhattacharjee Poem 82

LOVE AND DEATH
A middle-class Muslim man
loved and married the daughter
of a rich Hindu industrialist,
who accepted this relation never.
Brutal steps were taken to nip this into bud-
from police assault to goons’ attack.
A few days later the man’s deformed body
was traced on the railway track.
Being lost her wealth,
his mother approached to the ruler of the state.
High level investigation was conducted
to find out the reason of her son’s death.
Now for that powerful man of affairs
prison has become the only residence.
Here love has taken a different form-
she has turned into a killer leaving her innocence.
