Sankhajit Bhattacharjee Poem 73

Scientific Research Fellow in University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee

Politics of today has lost her ideology-

the river of which is carrying waste and garbage.

Own well, party’s good but not country’s good

are the sole objectives of this age.

The brutal material quest has given birth

to the struggle for position, pelf and power.

The democratic autocracy is slow poisoning

the mass at this hour.

Though the reality hardly obeys the principles of ideology,

the latter has won my senses, mind and heart.

My sound health will never take bath

in the water full of mud and dirt.

Nice poem on politics Sankhajit. It has always been the same. A nasty game.

Lovely poetry. Two more lines and a little re-shaping and you would have a memorable and worthy regular Sonnet. Continue ... continue. Om Shanti! Ask if you need help.
