Sankhajit Bhattacharjee Poem 59

Scientific Research Fellow in University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee

An evening in October, 1954, near Deshapriya Park...

As the flower droops,

the sun was sinking below the horizon.

The gray owl was bringing darkness in her two wings.

A poet’s blood was found on the tram line.

Barishal, the Dhansiri River and the Romantic Lady of Natore cried.

Literature- the son of life and happiness- was coming to an end.

But life never ends,

it will again smile with happiness,

hence their son is immortal.

The smiling faces of Barishal, the Dhansiri River and the Romanric Lady of Natore were observed.

You have conquered my happiness...

I have given my heart to you.

One day I will demise,

my heartbeat will stop forever

but my heart will remain for you through the ages to come.
