Sankhajit Bhattacharjee Poem 52

KANGCHENJUNGHA
Sun rays cover you with a golden gown,
while moonlight covers you with a silvery one.
You take bath in the seven hues of rainbow
to show your glamour under the crystal-clear sky.
Even Miss Universe will shatter all her beauty in front of you.
The great artist with one’s brush and ink
drew on the endless blue canvas
to create nature’s everlasting eternity.
Whenever I’m disheartened
your splendor brings smile on my lips-
happiness and peace surround me forever,
solace touches me
as mild breeze touches a water surface to make ripples.
The five snow-capped peaks are engraved inside my memory cells,
with death the latter will cease to exist
but the memory will remain alive forever in my consciousness.
