Sankhajit Bhattacharjee Poem 280

I Saw Her
I saw her
inside A.C. car
moving for office
paying heed to none, not even to traffic police.
I saw her
taking in city air
running with child for school
in heat keeping head cool.
I saw her
working in house as if waging war
no doubt a maid
always be paid.
I saw her
carrying bricks on shoulder
taking no rest
her baby crying for breast.
I saw her
inside a park at the corner
calling men
a tasty roasted chicken.
I saw her
meditating at temple round the year
so calm and cool
spiritually full.
I saw her
managing state affair
bold like lion king
challenging everything.
I saw her
dancing in a bar
inside picture tube
dissolving men like sugar cube.
