Sankhajit Bhattacharjee Poem 28

Scientific Research Fellow in University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee

Why don’t you believe me?

I’m telling the truth to you.

I never want to cheat my conscience

and my material body too.

My words are as bright as sunlight,

my words are as deep as river,

my words are as precious as gold,

my words are as sweet as nectar.

Please don’t misunderstand

or play tricks dirty.

Come along the right track

and believe me.

This one is difficult to understand.

There are people who just will not believe your words no matter how hard you try.

Nice one.

Dora Weithers from The Caribbean on May 25, 2020:

It hurts when you tell the truth and listeners choose instead to believe something else. Guess we just have to keep on trying to convince them. Good poem.
