Sankhajit Bhattacharjee Poem 272

Scientific Research Fellow in University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee

If One Tells

If one tells: I will never marry,

one is engaged in fatal love and never wants to cheat anyone.

If one tells: I will marry if I get a good guy,

one is never engaged and nurtures committed spirit.

If one tells: I can marry anyone,

one wants to enjoy the senses and

can create problem at any moment in married life.

If one tells: I don't believe in marriage,

one's character may be worse

but approach is modernist.

If one tells: marriage is not for all,

one is a detached egoist.

If one tells: marriage is everything,

one is destroying one's career.
