Sankhajit Bhattacharjee Poem 253

Book
Book is the primary source,
not the end.
Nature is everlasting-
knowledge has no wall.
If book is ultimate,
brain is useless
as hands lose creativity.
If book is nothing,
drum sounds high
as air fills the gap.
I once made a membership in a library
but never stay there for long,
otherwise I will be a librarian.
I have come out of four walls
to take fresh air to fill my lungs up to the brim.
I can see a rainbow in the sky,
while the librarian looks up through the window
to observe any indication of rain
as he forgets to bring the raincoat.
Some never cross the library gate-
they lose their way but think they are along the right track.
Some sit 24*7 inside the library-
they are buried under burden of books.
I am writing a book.
