Sankhajit Bhattacharjee Poem 234

Scientific Research Fellow in University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee

I Am Accustomed To

I am accustomed to molestation-

it's a part and parcel of my life

although I hate it

but my belly does welcome it.

No news is published in the newspapers

as I am the food of the newsmakers.

No woman wants to get molested

and I am not the exception

but no woman thinks about me-

here a woman hates another woman:

this is our society.

I sleep in a dark room during day.

At night I switch on light

to get engulfed by dark poison.

I am not a paid worker,

entertainment is my profession

and I am proud of it.
