Sankhajit Bhattacharjee Poem 171

Scientific Research Fellow in University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee

If I were a bird

I would have opened my wings

to fly high in the blue ocean of endless liberty,

at times I would have descended to this earth

to take a worm or a drop to quench my material hunger,

to fetch aid to my friends,

to talk about higher values.

Again I would have gone up and up

to invade the upper ether

to sense the beauty of heaven.

Nice poem about wishing to be a bird... freedom many of us dream of. I enjoyed it.

There is an escapist feeling you get once you read this short poem. You feel as if you have suddenly grown wings and started to fly unabated towards the mysterious unknown.

Thanks for sharing.
