Sankhajit Bhattacharjee Poem 132

Scientific Research Fellow in University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee

TRIVENI SANGAM

‘If you take bath in my water,

your sin will be washed away-

dirt and dust of your mind

will be wiped out.’

‘Why?’

‘Here the waters of three Himalayan daughters-

Ganges, Yamuna and Sarasvati mingle.’

I take bath, I feel nothing.

I utter,

‘I take daily bath in the water of my conscience-

it is also a Sangam.

When I take bath

my mind gets soothed with the heavenly nectar.

I feel light and ever happy.’

She hardly answers.
