Word Prompt—Sand

Brenda has provided another interesting word Prompt for this week.

Sand

Many thoughts were occurring to my mind, when I read ’sand’ as the next prompt.

  • I remembered all those places, where I had the opportunity to see lot of sand. Yes, I was reminded of all the sea beaches, which I have visited.
  • Fortunately, we have plenty of them, as three sides of India is surrounded by water bodies. Besides, that we also have the World famous deserts in India.
  • Sandy lands look alike, whether on beaches or in deserts. One important characteristic of ’sand’ is that it slips away.
  • As such, I wanted to compose something, correlating it with the general characteristics of ‘sand.’
  • Relationships are fragile, and care must be taken to maintain them. Just like if you tighten your fist, the sand held in your hand will start to slip away. But, if you just hold the sand in your hand, easily, it will stay there.
  • In relationships also, we should give love, respect and personal space to others, to sustain and maintain them.

I hope, I am able to convey the message, through my words.

Thank you Brenda, for all your sincere efforts to continue this series, by motivating us.

Sand and Relationship—Poem

Don't build sand castles,

It will be swept off,

Once the wind storm comes,

Don't write names of your loved ones,

On the beach sand,

The sea waves will wipe it down,

Write instead, your grudges on sand,

So you can erase them,

From your memory, forever,

Write instead, your hurts on sand,

So that you can forget them easily,

And forgive those, who hurt you,

Life is slipping away, like the sand,

Love more, let the hate wither away.
