All Things New: A Poem of Revelation 21
Poetry is one of Lori's favorite ways to share memories, to express feelings, and share what inspires her, so others might be inspired.
And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. Revelation 21:5
The promises
One of my favorite chapters in the Bible is Revelation 21. I love it because of the glorious promises of ALL things new.
The chapter describes what the new heaven and the new earth, with all things new, will be like. In this present beautiful, but terribly fallen world, I look forward to one day living eternally in the kingdom with the Alpha and Omega.
Lord, come quickly.
All things new - A poem
I saw a new heaven and earth
for the old had passed away.
The sea was no more present,
A new Jerusalem came down to stay.
The bride was adorned for her groom,
Christ Jesus the Lamb of God,
Come to dwell with His people
who will forever bring Him laud!
And so I hear the glad promise,
He'll wipe away every tear.
Oh what sweet consolation,
no more death, nor sorrow, nor fear.
The King of glory on his throne,
Mount Zion lavished with dew,
Shouts His glorious prelude
Behold I make all things new!
I write these words true and faithful;
His revelation ascend!
"I'm the Alpha and Omega,
The beginning and the end!"
He gives the fountain of water,
of life for all those who thirst!
He bids drink in abundance,
refreshment freely dispersed.
His glory, the light of the city,
pearled gates stand on streets of gold.
never to shut out the saved,
Oh, what a sight to behold.
"Behold I am coming quickly,"
declares our great Savior Lamb.
Yes, even come Lord Jesus,
I bid thee, O Great I AM!
