"Response to "Word Prompts Help Creativity ~ Week 35 (Sonder) - "Sonder"; "A Moment of Sonder"; & "Sonder Feeling" is my response to the word prompt, "Sonder" suggested by Kyler Falk.

I'm not certain I got this one right, but this is what my muse came up with for this word.

"The Definition of Sonder ~ Finding The Fantastic"

Seemingly aware

Of the life’s complexity

Now standing in the background

Dawning my daily routine

Everybody crossing my path

Realizes they’re not alone.

A Moment of Sonder

Each day when I walk outside,

the little neighborhood girl playing outside

runs up to greet me.

She enthusiastically yells “Hello neighbor"

as she crosses over into my yard,

anxious to talk.

Her friendly demeanor

hides a truth

which lingers in her eyes.

Starved for attention

but left unattended,

wanting to feel like her parents’ prize.

In that one fleeting second

my heart feels her sadness,

wondering if she ever truly experiences

the happiness she portrays.

Sonder Feeling

Sitting in the dark

tears streaming down her face,

wanting desperately to see the light

at the end of this devastating tunnel,

feeling totally lost and alone.

Thoughts mysteriously pop into mind,

words of comfort

guide her to a place unknown,

lifting her despair away.

She pictures others

feeling the same sadness,

looking for an answer, when there is none,

but finds solace in the realization

that others feel the same pain.

One persons craziness,

is another persons reality.
