"Tim McGraw ~ Live Like You Were Dying"

Turn Around Fear

A beautiful red rose

lays barren with thorns,

as disbelief shatters his mind.

Listening in the silence,

hearing the echo of words

replaying the diagnosis in his mind.

He decides to turn his fear around,

playing the hand life dealt him,

taking time to read the good book.

He picks up the scattered pieces,

correcting mistakes along the way,

living a fun-filled life,

painting a rainbow in the sky

like it was his last moment to enjoy.

Opening his broken heart to love,

holding forgiveness in his heart,

grateful for each second

before he must depart.

Fear is a reaction.

Courage is a decision.

— Winston Churchill

An Acrostic Poem ~ Fear

Feelings of anxiety

Emotions go haywire

Anger erupts like a volcano

Revealing unknown courage.
