Wisdom from the Master

I wanted to change the world.

Today I am wise

That is why

I am changing myself." - Sri Chinmoy

reminiscences-of-love

Today, I take much solace in the cliché,

That absence makes the heart grow fonder.

Your sweet face emanates a bewildering beauty;

Your cute cheeks glow with a thousand smiles.

Long nights I spend at Love’s window,

Embracing the magic of Thy allure.

Permeating my emotions, my breath quickens

From the memories of intimate moments.

Last Spring, I brought You a bouquet of white

Roses; watched Your gaze lit up. I noted your

Cheeks glow; the candescent smile from head

To chin. Now that I have recaptured this

Magic, I travel within, to embrace Thy Heart.

My joy soars like an eagle; my tears become

A hundred veils of satin, to serenade,

Like a song-bird, the radiant lustre of Thy Being.

On the golden thread of our memories, I climb on

Green hills and Catskill Mountains, walk on sandy

Beaches beneath coconut palms; swim in aqua-marine

Waters, from the realm of Bliss in which we dine.

reminiscences-of-love

At dawn I delight in Your radiance from the rising sun,

My gaze fixed on Thy splendour, recollecting the

Rainbows of great moments, inseparable and timeless.

Come! Let me take You on a journey this night,

We shall not open the curtains; the venetian blinds.

I’m intoxicated, and the natural hallucinogens

Of drunkenness -- this nectar of ethereal

Ecstasy --keeps me in trance from Thy embrace.

I wish to soar without wings, to dine in Your

Kingdom of enchantment, offering this Heart

Of devotion, to Your Breath divine.

Now I hear the melody of birds, as You whisper

Magical symphonies to my soul. Your lute

Cascades a sweet scent, like lavender flowers,

Permeating the meadow of my existence.

The flame of Thy effulgence burns within,

And I’m drunk with Love. I soar on the lapis

Lazuli of moonlights; of firefly stars, and walk

Without feet … to drink the wine from Thy Chalice.

"Run, run, my heart!

Run extremely fast.

Ignore, ignore

The voices of the past." - Sri Chinmoy

I enjoyed this beautiful poem about love. You described in beaitifully and I loved the Sri Chinmoy quote, as it is so true that we must change ourselves.

Thank You, Nithya,

Appreciated!

Mr Happy, we know from experience, that the meaning of God-souls changes, if the words are tampered with, as in the various scriptures. We are fortunate to have this one in English, so I'll be wary of adding to it. Better to just take what you need.

Yes, time flies indeed! Tomorrow is Christmas, haha. Ask Bill about the Catskill Mountains, as I think he and Bev have been there. Visually, it's quite stunning!

To return to the first aphorism, life itself is a walking, jogging, or running to ... precisely as there is no end to the journey.

"The goal is ahead of you,

Always ahead of you." - Sri Chinmoy.

Success and failure are necessary imposters ... the only goal is progress. Peace.

Beautifully expressed, I enjoyed reading.

"Friday's Inspiration 16" - It's Friday again? Haha!! It feels like it was just Friday the other day lol Ohh well, that's why days and numbers don't mean much to me: they keep changing back and forth. Like: decide already lol

"Catskill Mountains" is a thing. Never knew but now I do. Thanks for sharing that bit because I like mountains quite a bit, to say the least.

I like your words from the "Master". Only, I do not run "from". I run "to". Just a small difference in doing things, haha!!

It's a pink day for You today I see. I like pink too. My bedroom has baby blue walls and a cotton-candy pink on the border around door, widow and along the floor. It's an amazing contrast! : )

Alrighty, You have yourself a good week-end; another one that is!

I'm in a funny mood today. Don't mind me lol

Cheers!

Thanks Eric. I know. Our inner biography is woven from life's struggle and our souls grow in this adversity-candle from God. Gratitude ... much!

manatita44 (author) from london on November 20, 2020:

Thank you, Peggy. Appreciated.

You're the master here and a few more here. Peace.

Peggy Woods from Houston, Texas on November 20, 2020:

True love is worth celebrating, and you have done a fine job of it in this article.

Eric Dierker from Spring Valley, CA. U.S.A. on November 20, 2020:

Thanks friend this was a pleasure to read. I know love and absence quite well.

manatita44 (author) from london on November 20, 2020:

Well, well, Bill.

I didn't remember this part. God bless her soul in Paradise. I was just reinforcing the Love Idea to Eric. Mental problems will not go away without inner peace. Thank you so much!!

Bill Holland from Olympia, WA on November 20, 2020:

I don't know why, but this immediately made me think of my fiance, who died in 1997 two months before our wedding. She was a marvelous, loving woman, and I still love her. The world needs more like her, more like my Bev. The world needs more love, my friend. Thank you for the memories, and blessings to you always.
