Real and Fake - A Poem About Friendship

Pearly loves reading poems of Edgar Allan Poe to Lewis Caroll and that moved her to write poems also.

For You

How will I tell you this?

That all is not what it really is,

And what you see may differ from what they really are,

That who you know is not really them?

How can you understand people?

If they are chameleon changing colors everytime,

All smiling while telling you lies,

Handing you daggers instead of love?

How can you be with them?

When they're giving you empty smiles

Approaching you when you're just a want,

And set you aside when they're done?

What does it really take to find a genuine amigo,

Whom you love and loves you too?

A pure soul who is not a foe,

In life, aids you the right rythm and flow.

As the previous commentor said, a true friend is hard to find but luckily I've been blessed with a few that I can truly call "true friends". Two of which have been a part my life for over 20 years. Another great poem. Thanks for posting. :-)
