The Rainy Day—Haikus

I heard a gentle tapping on my window pane.
Very soon, the sound changed to gentle tip- tap, and then the louder pitter-patter.

I had to come out of my home to welcome the rains—for the joy and relief, it brings to the hearts of almost all the living creatures, to thank the Heavens, to bring this essential element of life to the Earth.

Haikus-About a rainy day

1. The tiny drops of rain,
Spreading pure elements on the earth,
Shining like jewels and Pearls.

2. It’s raining and I’m humming,
Splashing bare foot in the puddles,
Now, what’s that echo sound.


3. Tip-tap, drip-drop, pitter-patter
The aroma of the rain is all around,
Listen to the pleasing silence.


4. Let the rain droplets fall,
Let it wash away all the pain,
Let the soul and soil gain.
