Punctuate, Spell it Right (Punctuation on Parade)

what would we all do without any punctuation

just when would our language be understood

would we each be able to communicate at all

write a letter so correctly as everyone should

How might we show our best of education

telling those so addressed correctly done

would they turn us into an english teacher

give us all of those red marks one by one

would no punctuation start world war three

because some general forgot his manners

might one get just a small slap on the wrist

If they even misspelled a fruit like bananers

what would have happened to the constitution

the good old declaration of our independence

could we have each sat down and got together

or founding fathers have understood a sentence

may the poets write a poem of such resplendence

so that those readers get every stanza from a to z

how could any author get his work ever published

without a single punctuation mark for us all to see

might the baseball team still be left out in left field

if the score changer never could count nor to spell

where may we end up without a lawyer as needed

if his own secretary could not have posted our bail

if our weddings or our funerals were not indicating periods

as if were no question marks or commas all spread about

who would be the happy couples to perform their marrying

or where might our woeful caskets placed beyond a doubt

It seems our very world being all turned upside down

if we forgot to regard each notes letters punctuations

maybe we did create a terrible monster in its disguise

if there were no dots dashes commas or exclamations

Help me please if you can understand this help help help you know what I mean by the way who are you anyway. ,?!&)_+:;?.,!!!!!#####%%&&?????

This is fun! It's true that we can actually do without punctuation but it can be a bit of a headache, can't it?

Having said that, legal speak is often without punctuation for that very reason - it's open to interpretation and therefore there is no comeback on the lawyers!

Great poem; you've structured this so well and it made me smile, especially with those zany frogs!
