Is Peace Too Much to Ask?
With all the world has been through in the last few years (and is continuing to deal with) with the COVID 19 pandemic, and other catastrophes like fires, floods, tornadoes, earthquakes and the like, the last thing we need is a war.
But, of course, that is exactly when the tyrannical rulers like to strike ... when other world powers are seen as being weakened, or in compromised positions. Russia, or more precisely, Putin saw this as the perfect opportunity to invade Ukraine and, apart from financial and trade sanctions, providing armaments, and accepting refugees, the rest of the world is sitting on its hands and watching closely to see what plays out. China will be especially interested in the outcome in regard to its future inevitable attempt to take Taiwan.
I don't really have much else to say, except I admire the bravery and resistance shown by the Ukranian people, mourn those lost, feel sorry for the average Russian citizens, and the soldiers who were unknowingly thrown into a front-line conflict, and pray for the best possible outcome.
It’s not given to people to judge what’s right or wrong. People have eternally been mistaken and will be mistaken, and in nothing more than in what they consider right and wrong.
— Leo Tolstoy ~ War and Peace
Proud Ukraine
Proud Ukraine,
a world in pain.
Tell me Russia
what’s to gain?
Putin wants to
have it now,
restore USSR
to power.
Let’s all oppose
this cruel oppression.
When will tyrants
learn their lessons?
Instil sanctions,
break all ties,
promote the truth,
expose the lies.
Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere.
— Martin Luther King Jr.
Russian people
are not bad,
they are deceived
and that is sad.
Putin must
topple and fall.
His countrymen
can make that call.
NATO
and the UN too,
let the onus
fall on you.
Killing children
doesn’t gel.
Perpetrators
go to Hell!
It is not enough to say we must not wage war. It is necessary to love peace and sacrifice for it.
— Martin Luther King Jr.
Why can’t the world
just be as one,
enjoying life
under one sun?
No country's better
than the rest.
We share the resources
with which we're blessed.
Greed and power
should have no place.
We must unite,
the human race.
You can only protect your liberties in this world by protecting the other man’s freedom. You can only be free if I am free.
