It's For Everybody

Updated on December 24, 2017

If it’s not your God then still pray for the dying
How many babies are born on this day anyway
Pick the one you love, yours or someone else’s
Don’t make shadows, life is for each one of us

You lost your mom or your brother too soon
The gold you own said I’m no burning bush
There’s only one place to go for your grief
Either a friend or a swaddled baby giving life

Some burn crosses, others take them down
God didn’t ask the image on the coin for help
He hears our prayers and no man can interfere
The will to live is how mercy knows what to do

I want to walk as far as your pain is deep
The stars in the sky will guide my purpose
Though not every window will fill with green
On this day it is true that love conquers dread

Thank you Diana. I started this one out thinking about how Christmas has caused controversy in political circles and how it's not everyone's religion... then it sort of wrote itself.

Very deep thoughts and so much to think about with just a few words. Good hub.
