Innovative people are much different from the ordinary business or trading people. They always have some thought regarding welfare of the society in the back of their minds while researching or designing newer gadgets or test equipments or even methods and methodologies which create a lot of ease in the lives of common people and help in overall progress of the mankind. I always ponder how these innovative people are different from the common lot who are only interested in making a career and earn money and have a comfortable materialistic life. From the eyes of a poet an innovator looks like a God sent angel who has devoted his life to the great noble task of uplifting the larger part of a society. There are philanthropist and kind hearted rich people who support these innovators for doing such good works and may also have sometimes some little business interest in the machine or methodology developed by a research innovator.

I am always impressed by the outlook, approach, and dedication of such people who have an inclination to work for the overall progress and betterment of the society, environment, and governance in the system through their innovative entrepreneurship.

My poem is a depiction of the life sketch of a typical entrepreneur and Incidentally as my youngest brother Manoj Kumar is also an innovative entrepreneur, I am dedicating this poetic sketch to him.

Do you know them?

Poetic life sketch of an innovator

Born in a humble family,

The youngest of the siblings.

He was growing up,

In serene hill surroundings.

Apple of his mother's eye,

He was a happy child.

Simple and down to Earth,

Having a temperament mild.

Mediocre student was he,

But good in extra carricular.

When he talked with emphasis,

He appeared a good narrator.

As was the family tradition,

He was to choose a job stream.

He reluctantly followed that,

Perhaps he had some other dreams.

His father had some doubts,

What would happen to his career.

Family pride was at stake,

If the boy succumbs to failure.

Every member was after him,

Forcing him to make a career.

He just appeared in one exam,

And became a respectful officer.

It was a rejoice time,

As he got a good position.

Later every one was shocked,

As he declined the proposition.

It was a strange decision,

When he joined a small post.

What was hidden in his actions,

Could not be understood by most.

Hopping from one to another,

He settled in a multinational.

He must have done good work,

Was very active and functional.

So far, working for others,

Something which he never liked,

His aspirations were elsewhere,

He wanted to drive his own plight.

He left the coveted job,

To start his own surprise.

But it was not the usual business,

As it was innovative enterprise.

This is where his passion lie,

Innovation of some kind.

Not only an academic research,

But would also help the mankind

He is doing quite good,

Happy in his own ways.

He believes that innovations,

Can bring on Earth happy days.

Every one cannot be an innovative entrepreneur as it requires a basic feeling and goodwill for doing a purposeful work for the improvement and betterment of society in a larger perspective. This is the sheer will power and meticulous hard work of an innovator that provides him success in this difficult path where financial as well as social issues are present to decelerate him in reaching his goals.

This is a good and brief account of the entrepreneurs. Yes, it requires will power and hard work to succeed. The capability to take risks, and hold on to the self confidence.

I like the Tom Freston quote. It sounds like what writers do with two or more ideas. Good narrative poetry. Sounds like you know the innovator.
