Life is About Exercising Your Faith

Faith is one of those aspects of life where a lot of people claim to have faith but many of those who claim to have faith don’t practice their faith. Life for them goes as any other day of being lost in a world seeking a light in a dark world. The sad thing is if those who claim to have faith practiced their faith they would be bright light in the darkness for others to follow.

James 2:14 - 17, says this about faith, “What good is it, my brothers, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can that faith save him? If a brother or sister is poorly clothed and lacking in daily food, and one of you says to them, “Go in peace, be warmed and filled,” without giving them the things needed for the body, what good is that? So also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.”

As James states life is about exercising your faith. It is why I write my poems of faith in God to express my faith. I hope you find this latest selection of poems an inspiration to your heart and faith. Until next time stay strong in the Lord and keep exercising your faith.

My Eternal Friend

I’ve never seen god

But i know he’s there

Cause’ deep within my heart

I feel his loving care

God is no stranger

He’s a friend to me

He’s my best friend

For all eternity

He’s my eternal friend

He’s always there

Always caring

Always watching over me

When others turn away

I know he will always be

Walking alongside of me

I’m looking forward

To seeing god each day

Even though i don’t know

What i’ll have to say

As i gaze on his glory

A smile on my face

Deep inside my heart

I’ll know i’ve finished

The race

God is real

So real to me

He’s my best friend

For all eternity

He’s my eternal friend

Always watching over me

When others turn away

I know he will be always there

Watching over me

We Can’t Stop Shouting

For far too long

We’ve blended in

With this world

We’re livin’ in

But now it’s time

To stand up again

For what we’re believin’ in

We need to spread the word

Throughout our neignbor hoods

To those who

Haven’t heard

About christ our king

We can’t stop shouting

No we can’t stop shouting

We can’t stop shouting

Tellin’ all the world

Tellin’ them his word

For years we remained silent

While the world became

So violent

Because they have forgotten

What it meant to love the lord

Now the world

Has developed an attitude

About what they think

Is good

That is why we need to

Stand up and light their way.

We can’t stop shouting

No we can’t stop shouting

We can’t stop shouting

Tellin’ all the world

Tellin’ them his word

Eternity In Our Hearts

Go to work each day

Doin’ it this, this and that away

Tryin’ to fill

Some deep deep need

So far you labor in vain

Can’t get rid of the pain

It’s a hunger

You cannot feed

Eternity in our hearts

Eternity in our hearts

God has placed a big question mark

Deep within our hearts

Only he’s the answer

God has placed

Eternity in our hearts.

No matter how hard you try

Nothing seems to satisfy

Deep inside

Somethingis missing

Over the years tried it all

Money, pills still you fall

Think by now

You’d learn a lesson

Eternity in our hearts

Eternity in our hearts

God has placed a big question mark

Deep within our hearts

Only he’s the answer

God has placed

Eternity in our hearts

Jungle

Welcome to the jungle

It’s your life day by day

You better be careful

It’s easy to lose your way

As you walk life’s short path better be sure your way is true

cause that‘s the only way you‘re gonna make it through

Cause’ the devil’s a hungry lion he’s always on the prowl

Waiting for the right moment to come and take you down

He’ll use your own desires to lure you into his trap

Then he’ll take your life next step may be your last

Welcome to the jungle

It’s your life day by day

You better be careful

It’s easy to lose your way

The way to get through life the way to make a stand

Is followin’ word for wordwhat it says in the master’s plan

All the word’s were written penned with you in mind

Cause the master knew life would be an uphill climb

This doen’t mean the devil will never be watchin’ you

Cause takin’ down a believer is his favorite thing to do

Welcome to the jungle

It’s your life day by day

You better follow the instructions

Or you will lose your way

Promises, Promises

I have news for you

Others are gonna let you down

Make empty promises

To which they are not bound

Hey don’t get discouraged

Don’t look so dismayed

Cause its all part of the human nature

In which your faith was laid

You should have looked to god

All his promises are true

What God says

He does

He will always do

Cause God makes

Promises, promises

He will keep

Promises, promises

All you need to do

Is believe

I just want to take a moment

To remind you

Others are gonna let you down

Make empty promises

To which they are not bound

But god will keep his promises

God does not lie his word is true

He staked his reputation

On the life of his son

What more could he do

Cause God makes

Promises, promises

He will keep

Promises, promises

All you need to do

Is believe

Standin’ To Close to the Fire

Can’t be doin’ what you’re doin’

Thought by now you would have learned

Standin’ to close to the fire

Sooner of later you’re gonna get burned

Can’t have the best of both worlds

It don’t work out that way

Gotta choose one way or the other

Can’t forever stay in the gray

Turn away turn away

From this double take life

It’s time to choose

The choice that is right

A part time christian

Is not what we’re called too be

Our light should always shine brightly

For all the world to see

The world is an enticing place

Of that there is not doubt

But there are things we should be doing

Others we should be doing without

Can’t mix the colors together

It must be balck or white

Can’t drive the middle of the raod

Got to turn to the left or right

Turn away turn away

From this double take life

It’s time to choose

The choice that is right

A part time christian

Is not what we’re called too be

Our light should always shine brightly

For all the world to see

The Battle Rages On

I was told I was in a battle

A batlle I could not see

Wondered how that kinda battle

Was gonna be real to me

Said the bible talks about

It all the time

How we‘re soldiers

Fightin’ behind the enemy lines

Tryin to save lost souls

Prisoners of this war

Who all need to know

Who were fightin’ for

First I didn’t get it

Faith has let me see

The battle rages on

Until the day of victory

The battle rages on

The battle rages on

With all my heart and soul

All my sweat and tears

I’ll keep on fightin

Put away all my fears

I know Satan’s not going to

Go down without a fight

So each day I remind myself

The lord’s fightin’ alongside

I know i have to hold on

Till the end I have to endure

So that someday we can all

Walk with jesus on heaven’s shore

Words

Words can build you up

Words can tear you down

We’re throwin’ them words

Around

Your day is goin’ bad

You need a word to

To make you feel glad

Someone says something cruel

You’re hurtin’ inside

Feelin’ the fool

Words can build you up

Words can tear you down

We’re throwin’ them words

Around

Try to do what is right

It’s always wrong

In you parent’s sight

Tell you you’ll never

Amount to nothin’

Why even try

You hide in your room

Start to cry

Words can build you up

Words can tear you down

We’re throwin’ them words

Around

Kids in school call you names

Never meant to hurt you

To them it’s just a game

But the words cut like knife

Deep to your soul

Shape your life

Words can build you up

Words can tear you down

We’re throwin’ them words

Around
