Poems of Faith From the Beach 6

Timothy is a Christian who enjoys creating visual art and writing. He has a B.S. in Psychology.

Prologue:

Welcome to volume 6 of Faithful Poems. The only change in this edition comes in the name change. I just thought it reflected the true idea of these poems, which is to reflect my faith in God to change the title from Faithful Poems to Poems of Faith.

In this addition quite a few of the poems were written with Bible prompts. The others came from inspiration around me. My hope is you enjoy each of the poems and they give your spirit a life in these tough times. Until next time stay strong and don't lose your faith because He is still there.

The inspiration for this poem comes from the fact when you look around you can see God’s presence everywhere.

I Know

I know you’re there Lord
I see your handiwork each day
From the tree in the forest
To the sun’s first bright rays
This world is your canvas
Painted with colors so bright
A masterpiece in the making

Each Day brings a new sight
But our eyes no longer see
The canvas as being yours
Tried to paint our own paintings
With colors which are so impure

I know you’re there Lord
I feel you in my heart each day
From the way you guide me
To the love you bring my way
My heart is the clay, molded
In you, the master potter’s hands
A vessel fit for a king to use
Throughout, this your holy land
But we’ve tried to be the potters
Making a vessel of our very own
Molding the clay as we see fit
In the trash our pots are thrown

“The inspiration for this poem comes from the fact that when you give you always seem to get more back in return

When You Give

In this life
Give
Cause when you
Give
You always get more in return
Than what you gave out
In the first place
So give whatever you can
In this life
Give

“The Prompt for this poem is Psalm 16:11, You make known to me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore.

Where There Is God

Where there is God
There is no night
The darkness is bathed
In his light
Where there is god
Is sung new songs
That bring joy the heart
Carry us along
Where there is god
Life is so worthwhile
We want to spread God’s love
Sometimes with just a smile
Where there is god
There is peace
Even it those times
When turmoil doesn’t cease
Where there is God
There is love

Prompt: 1 John 4:8

Anyone who does not love does not know God, because God is love." and verses like it which show our need to love everyone.

Strangers

Strangers, strangers
To God there are no strangers
He knows us all
From the rich to the poor
From the big to the small
God knows the things we do
Both secret and in sight
He knows we are so far
From walking in his light
Still God loves us
Wants to draw us near
He even sent His Son to die for us
To show how much he cares

Strangers, strangers
I need to see the world
Through the Father’s eyes
A world not filled with strangers
But people who are dying
People who have never known
The comfort of savior’s love
People who are in danger
Of being separated from god
People who need to know
Where they will spend eternity
People who need to here his word
From people like you and me

I need to see the world
Through he father’s eyes
A world without strangers
Only friend of god and mine

Prompt: Philippians 1:6,

“He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ esus” our life is a puzzle which God helps us assemble.

Puzzles

Oh what a puzzle
Is what we call life
Each day we add a piece
Hopin’ to place it right
Sometimes it works out
Other times it don’t
So we choose another piece
And try to move on
Sometimes we get impatient
Don’t want to wait
So we try to force
The piece into place
Each time it doesn’t fit
We get annoyed
Deep in our heart we think
We’ve made the right choice

God sees the puzzle
That we call life
He sees it complete
Each piece placed right
We don’t have to struggle
Placing the pieces on our own
We can ask god to help us
See where each piece goes
He has the patience
To help us wait
So we won’t try to put
A piece in the wrong place
Casue with god’s guidance
We won’t get annoyed
Deep in our heart we thank
God for the right choice

Faith is a knowledge within the heart, beyond the reach of proof. – Khalil Gibran

A Love

We all need a love
To hold us
To lift us
To give us
When life threatens
To sink us
A love that will never fails us
A love from god above
A love of comfort
A love of courage

Filled with wisdom and
Caring
A love that is ageless
And enduring
A love passed from
Generation to generation
This is our father’s love
A love for all nations

In this ever darkening world
God’s love is a light
That shines through
The darkest night
A love to touch your heart
A love for you to share
A love that will not depart
We all need god’s love

Prompt: Psalm 77:14,

You are the God who works wonders; you have made known your might among the peoples

Miracles

As a child i saw
Miracles everywhere
From the trees and the flowers
To the birds in the air
Life felt so wonderful
My heart was filled with joy
It was oh so exciting
Just to get a new toy

But as i grew
Miracles faded away
My childlike vision became
Cloudy with age
Miracles became few
And far between
Everything new was something
I had already seen

Felt at a loss
For losing this sight
Til the day came I saw the world
In a whole new light
My eyes were reopened
All about I could see
God’s miracles abound
They’re all
Around me.

Miracles they didn't go away
I just lost sight of them
Till I lived my life
God’s way

Prompt: Proverbs 29:11

A fool gives full vent to his spirit, but a wise man quietly holds it back.

Why

Tired of you pushing me around
Dragging me down
All the while
Tryin’ to keep me bound
My spirit is ready
My spirit is willing
Don’t care if you’re not ready
You best be chillin’
It is time for you to
Leave me alone

You’re no longer welcome
I’m bound for a new home
It is so hard to
Chase the old man away
To live for the Lord
Day by day by day
Cause the moment you
Feel you belong
Old man comes back
So strong
Gotta chase the old
Man away

There are days in my walk
I'm feelin’ so lazy
And the truth seems
So blurred and hazy
Because the old man
Is havin’ his way
I don’t want it
So I pray and pray
But the moment i
Turn my back
The old man
Is back on the attack

Prompt: Proverbs 2:20

So you will walk in the way of good men

And keep to the paths of the righteous.

On The Wrong Road

On the wrong road
You know you are lost
Cause things are goin’
From bad to worse
Got off at the wrong exit
Took the wrong ramp
Now your tanks on empty
You’re runnin out of gas

Once traveled down the road
Which led to the light
Took a wrong turn
Got caught up in this life
Turned you back on the savior
You used to know
Turns up ahead
Which way you gonna go

On the road again
On the road again
Can’t wait
Get back on the road again
The narrow road
That leads to life
The road less traveled
With Jesus as your guide

Prompt: 1 John 4:7-8

Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.

God’s Love

I know God loves me
With a love which transforms
So I can see the truth in life
So can weather the storms

I know God loves me
One day He’ll take me home
To a place I’ve never been
A place a never known

From the moment I arrive there
I know I will belong
Something in my heart will stir
Play a song I’ve always known
In the place of God’s love

The place of God’s love
A place we don’t understand
Because we look at it
Through the eyes of sinful man

God is pleased to love us
Not because of what we’ve done
But because of the love He has
For Jesus His son

He came down to the
Wilderness
To off us God’s Grace
So when the day comes
We may see God face to face
In the place of God’s love

The place of God’s love
A place we don’t understand
Because we look at it
Through the eyes of sinful man
