Poems: The Hands of Friendship

I am a writer. My passion is poetry. I feel words connect people together and help us to understand the feelings we share.

Poem Summary

The Hands of Friendship consist of 3 poems in response to "Word Prompts Help Creativity / Week 9" by Brenda Arledge.

Divine Friendship is a poem that descibes when we stop trusting in others as friends and put our faith only in God.

Hand of Friendship is a poem about how friendship comes quite close to lasting forever, being with us up to the end.

Long Distance Friends is a poem about treasuring the friendships we make across the borders with people we have never met.

I hope you enjoy them.

Devine Friendship

She has no need for superficial friendships,

they’ve broke her once before

with their callous concern.

She puts her trust in the one

who rules the heavens and the earth,

who doesn’t hesitate to reach out with a helping hand.

One who never lets her down

time and time again,

showing her the way to breathe again.

When your best friend is God, you are never alone.

— Piyush

Hand of Friendship

Nothing last forever

but friendship comes quite close,

as we treasure

those hardcore moments

right up until life’s end.

Like the vastness of the ocean

friends exist within each wave

guiding us away from turbulence

to the calmness of the shore.

A true friend is someone who sees the pain in your eyes while everyone else believes the smile on your face.

Long Distance Friends

Across the borders

out of arms reach,

the solace of a friendship is born.

A treasure to hold close

helping one to broaden his horizons,

learning new lingo along the way.

A chance to view a different perspective

sharing moments,

both happy and sad.

A place one enjoys a smile or two

feeling like he’s talking to the person next door,

without realizing the miles in between.

To the world you may be one person, but to one person you may be the world.

— Dr. Seuss
