Welcome:

I offer for your reading enjoyment installment #7 of my faith based poetry. I write a lot of poetry. As stated before the words flow from my pen and onto the paper. While many of these poems end up being in the lyrical form many are just poems based on something I’ve read in the Bible. Here in this offering are a few more poems inspired by a Bible verse or verses. I hope you enjoy them and that they may offer you some heart felt comfort in these troubling times.

Prompt: Colossians 3:12-15, which speaks of Christians being patient and love.

Peace

Peace, peace

Beautiful peace

When will it come

Hostilities cease

Someday Lord you will

Give us peace

A peace which lasts for

All eternity

A peace which cost so much

A price to high

The death of your Son

Peace, peace

Beautiful peace

O someday it will come

Will be welcomed

Then all will be done

Jesus said

Peace I leave you with

The world does not

Understand

Peace we must pursue

With our fellow man

Peace, peace

Beautiful peace

Peace, peace

Beautiful, wonderful peace

Prompt: James 1:22, “But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.”

The Word

You hear the Word

Yeah, sure it’s okay

But what do you do

With the Word of God

Each and every day

Do you read it?

Do you study it?

Do you take it to heart?

Do you love it?

Do you share it?

Do you let it not depart?

You hear the Word

Yeah, sure it’s okay

But what do you do

With the Word of God

Each and every day

Do you believe it?

Do you trust it ?

Do you see it as truth?

Do you use it?

Do you seek it?

Do you accept it as is?

God’s Word never changes

It’s the same today as before

Though many try to change it

Or write it off as an old folklore

One question is left to ask you

One question for you this day

You hear the Word

Yeah, sure it’s okay

But what do you do

With the Word of God

Each and every day

Prompt: Inspired by Ecclesiastes 3:1-8

A Time

Hear the melody of the flowers

As they're blowing in the wind

See the beauty of all the unseen

Bask in the colors again and again

Touch those things you cannot feel

Reach out, hold onto them somehow

Taste the foods delectably sweet

Feast on them in this life, here now

Feel your life as it was meant to be

Where every moment has a place in time

Every time has it's own moment to see

A life where there will always be

A time to run

A time to try

A time to rest

A time to cry

A time to laugh

A time to hold on

A time to let go

A time to move on

Look at this life admit to yourself

What you're seeing what you've seen

Say it is so, you will see the truth

There is a God who has always been

He is the melody of the flowers

He is all the sights still unseen

He is who you touch, but cannot touch

He gives us food we need to eat

You see beauty where you desire

You see ugliness where you're afraid

You see life as an unlit fire

You see truth as just a charade

Every time has it's own moment to see

A life where there will always be

A time to run

A time to try

A time to rest

A time to cry

A time to laugh

A time to hold on

A time to let go

A time to move on

A time to turn to God

Prompt: John 15:12, “ “This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you.”

The Love of Jesus

How long is the love of jesus

It has no beginging

It has no end

His love encircles us

To protect and defend

How deep is the love of jesus

Deeper than the deepest

Ocean

Deeper than the gates of hell

Jesus’ love flows forth

From an endless well

How high is the love of jesus

As high as the cross

As high as the throne

Of grace

From where love came down from

To save the human race

How great is the love of jesus

Who can fathom it’s strength

It fills the earth as far

As far as the eye can see

Yet each heart can contain it

Cause he loves even you

And me

Prompt: Colossians 2:6-7 - So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live your lives in him, rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness.

Deeply Rooted

Deeply rooted in the word

Deeply rooted in the word

Deeply rooted in the Word of God

Unless your heart is deeply rooted

In the rich, rich soil of God’s Word

Your faith will not grow and blossom

Into the bountiful fruit used of the Lord

Deeply rooted in the word

Deeply rooted in the word

You must be

Deeply rooted in the Word of God

In order to survive

The winds of change

You must be

Deeply rooted in the word

Deeply rooted in the word

Deeply rooted in the Word of God

Unless your heart is deeply rooted

In the rich, rich soil of God’s Word

Your faith will not grow and blossom

Into the bountiful fruit used of the Lord

Deeply rooted in the Word

Prompt: Matthew 28:19-20, “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

Day After Day

Hey you! Don’t you care

Soon He will be comin’ back

Don’t think since you’re saved

You don’t need to try no more

For we should show our love

By embracing the lost people too

That’s what He would do

I’m warning you

Day after day

We let chances slip by

Cause we’re afraid to tell

Them why we are changed

Don’t send them off without

Hearin’ jesus name

Who knows when they will come

This way again

For we should show our love

By embracing the lost people too

That’s what He would do

I’m warning you

Hey! Better do something now

Don’t try to stand there

And tell me you don’t know how

Just go out and share his love

Go get ready, go get ready

Go out and share His love
