Poem: Raindrops

Peace is a high school- level educator and a writer that is dedicated to creating engaging contents for online platforms.

Brenda's such a talented writer and highly imaginative I must say. Her prompts make me think deeply about everything. She's come up with another beautiful word prompt.."Raindrops". The word brings back so many beautiful childhood memories.

Soaked in the Rain with Friends.

"being soaked alone is cold, being soaked with your best friends is adventure" It's been a few years since I drew this and I'm glad it came in handy for this prompt.

I Love Rainy Days And The Cold Winds.

Happiness is what I feel each time it rains….the first few drops on my skin gives me an icy sensation that relieves me of all the stress I've felt. I love to sit by the window and watch as the droplets races down from the sky, the clouds, thunder, and lightning as I reminisce my childhood memories…I loved making paper boats and floating them in the rain.....My friends and I would play in the rain. We would walk home from school in the rain and only use our raincoats to protect our books from getting wet. Although my mom would scold me for not taking shelter somewhere until the rain stops, she'd give give me a hot cup of tea so I could be warm and let me stay in bed all day under my blankets.....still i felt the chilly cold winds and the freshness it brings.

Even as an adult, I still take a walk with my umbrella in the rain when it's not so heavy...it's something I won't move on from no matter how old I get.

poemraindrops

Poem

I heard raindrops at night.

Dancing on my roof.

Racing on the plane.

Making sweet melodies,

Like a lullaby.

Putting me to sleep.

I freeze in bliss as the light breeze brushes against my skin.

Forgetting all my pains.

I saw raindrops at noon.

Splashing on the earth.

Easing the day's heat.

Watering the withered flowers.

Giving the trees a shower.

Bringing them to life.

Filling the air with the scent of wet grasses and soil.

The pretty tiny bit of water.

Come in millions.

A beautiful sight to see.

It splashes all around.

From the top to the ground.

I wish to hold the raindrop in a warm embrace.

And let the drops fall on my face.

While we dance to its rhythm and it fills my soul.

After the raindrops,

Everything washes away.

The cloud is serene.

The Sky is blue.

The air is new.

Hope is new.

If I Were a Raindrop.

I'd be that raindrop who visits the flowers to bloom.

Cheer up the roots of every plant.

Fill the wells with water

Make a beautiful spring.

Make the seeds to sprout.

The earth clean and fresh.

I'd fall on the little girl who is thirsty.

I'd be that raindrop that keeps you listening to me.

I'd be gentle and soft.

I'd be filled be excitement and Peace.

I'd be soothing to the soul.

There are many kinds of raindrops and many ways to fall.

Yaay! Thank you Tina, I haven't really thought of putting effort in my drawing.. I admit that I do well in drawing animations..it just something I do when I'm super bored...I'll consider your suggestion. Thanks

Hi Brenda,

I'm grateful for your comment and for liking my drawing...lol

Beautiful poems, Tobe

I enjoyed reading it. The drawing is so cute. When I was a kid I also have played with paper boats. It was a joyful read. A lovely response to Brenda's Prompt.

Thanks for sharing.

Blessings and love

Tobe,

I love your drawing. I'm so glad you kept it.

I'm with you...I don't mind walking in the rain. There's something about it that makes you feel alive.

I don't thinknI even own an umbrella.

As for paper boats..I never had the pleasure.

Your poem shows us that milder side of the rain that we all love.

That sweet lullaby.

It does splash on the earth and water the trees & everything... giving them a natural beauty.

It is true that after the rainfall everything seems so new & fresh.

If I were a raindrop is such a refreshing poem.

To help everything grow and have a better life. Whether it be nature or human.

Awesome!

Love your quote from Bob Marley.

I feel the rain.

I'll post a link in the article.
