Poem: You're Too Much
You're Too Much
You're too sweet,
My tongue tastes you,
Taste buds lose touch,
Familiar flavours new.
You're too hot,
With sweat comes flood,
No need for flirt,
You pump up my blood.
You're too cool,
Make me crazy shiver,
Can't stay still,
With all my quivers.
You're too funny,
Feeling feather all day,
I'm a laughing gas,
In a balloon that floats up, up and away.
You're too sexy,
You always slay,
Even when you're away,
Your scent seems to stay.
You're too much,
I don't know what to say.
Poem Meaning
You're too sweet
My tongue tastes you
Taste buds lose touch
Familiar flavours new.
Your special someone is so sweet that your tongue loses its other senses.
You're too hot
With sweat comes flood
No need for flirt
You pump up my blood.
Your special someone is so hot that you sweat profusely. You don't even need her or him to approach you. You already feel that your blood pressure is rising.
You're too cool
Make me crazy shiver
Can't stay still
With all my quivers.
You're intimidated by the coolness of your special someone. He or she makes you nervous and fidgety.
You're too funny
Feeling feather all day
I'm a laughing gas
In a balloon that floats up, up and away.
Your special someone makes you laugh a lot that you feel giddy and light. Feeling feather means that you feel tickled.
You're too sexy
You always slay
Even when you're away
Your scent seems to stay.
Your special someone is so sexy that he or she makes you desire for him or her to stay. The symbolic meaning of scent is desire.
You're too much
I don't know what to say.
You are speechless because your special someone is perfect to you.
If you are/were in love with someone...

Although its been sometime you never forget scent and that giddy butterfly feeling you get when you are highly attracted to someone.

It's such a sweet and simple poem. Sometimes most simple things are most beautiful ones. Reading this made me really happy:)

Frank, haha....I was wondering whether I should have added exclamation marks to the first lines...like "You're Too Sweet!" but maybe it'll be too much...for too much.

what I enjoy is the tenderness and the soft voice that comes from your poetry here Li-Jen
