Poem: You My Furry Friend Are My Valentine

This poem is dedicated to my pet who brought so much love, sunshine, and happiness in my life. He is an important part of my life now.

My Furry Valentine

My Furry Valentine

My Furry Valentine

Pets are a great source of joy and the best of friends that humans can ever have. They may not be able to speak like us but their eyes have the power to speak a million words and melt the hardest of hearts. They are like children who never grow up. They trust us completely and love us absolutely in return for a little love and care from us. They never desert us and are true companions in joy and in sorrow.

As Mahatma Gandhi rightly said every life is as precious as that of a human being and the more helpless a creature, the more it is entitled to protection from the cruelty of man. And only when we have loved an animal will we truly understand the value of every life on earth. So let us start by adopting a pet and learn the values of selfless love, simplicity, and joy from it. What better motivation can we have than see how our pet loves and lives each day as if it is a new day and lives life at its full potential.

The bond that children share with a pet is so endearing. Pets teach children to love, have compassion, and respect for life. Their love for animals will make them better adults as they grow. We can hope for a better tomorrow when children learn to love animals today.

So on Valentine's Day, I want to express my gratitude to my pet, my Furry Valentine who with his unconditional love changed my life for the better. Humans can give us love, friendship but a pet gives his heart, his entire life to us.

Quote by Mahatma Gandhi

You are my best Friend my Furry Valentine
You brought laughter and sunshine in my life
Richness to my days and made me so alive
You are my pet, my love my everything.

Your life so simple, your love so true
You came as a helpless puppy
And stole my heart away
And changed my life for good.

Quote

You follow me like a shadow
You watch my every move
You comfort me when I am sad
And never tire playing all-day.

Whoever said we can't have
conversations were wrong
You understand every word I say
and I, what your every action means.

Quote by Paul Mccartney

You are always pleased to see me
Even when I am away only for a while
You eagerly welcome me home
Like you have not seen me awhile.

Your favorite words are let's go for a walk
and your favorite pastime is a drive in the car
I know how you love running around in the Park
A date out with you is like a date with a film star.

Quote by Josh Billings

Quote by Josh Billings

You greet me every morning
With a snuggle and a lick
And makes me feel good
to see another new day.

I know you love me more than
You love anything in this world
And I cannot imagine a life without you
How I wish I could stay with you forever.

Quote by Anatole France

You always make me smile with your antics
Playing with you cures my disturbed mind
Now it is final that wherever I go
I will never ever leave you behind.

Words cannot express my gratitude
That you came into my life
With the children grown and flown the nest
You made me a proud mom again.

Hi ann, Thanks for the comments. it is so wonderful that you have so many animals at home. The one that you asked about is my daughter's and I believe they were told that it is a Husky mix when they got her. She is so adorable. Ours is a cocker spaniel. The first and the last pictures are of our dog. And we love him so much. We can't bear the thought of being away from him. Have a great day.

Thanks, Nithya. Appreciate your comments. It is true that pets change our lives for the better and we can't bear the thought of separation from them.

Thanks, Brenda, appreciate your nice comments. Yes, we can't imagine life without our pet. You should write a poem with this theme of your cats wishing you on Valentine's day. Just a thought. Please don't mind my suggestion. Have a great Valentine's day with your adorable cats.

Lovely poetry about our pets, specifically about your dog. I've had several dogs and I loved them to bits. I won't have another as we go away quite a bit (though not lately!) and because I can't bear the heartache when they get old and have to go. There are a couple of dogs in the family so I make do with those. I've also had cats, rabbits, a hamster and a budgie (which was hilarious!), but dogs are by far my favourite.

I love the one that looks like a Husky but I'm not sure it is one - can you put me right not that please? There are a couple of Huskies around here and they each have one blue and one brown eye, which I believe is quite common.

A sweet lovely valentine's poem for your furry pets. Great quotes and photos. Life would not be the same without pets.

Hi Peggy, Thanks for the visit and the nice comments. Pets change our life for the better and we can never forget them or their love even when they are not around.

This is a wonderful idea. A valentine for our pets.

Life would never be the ssme without them.

I am a cat person at the moment & I actually got a card that said it was from my cats...made that way from the card company.

Have a great day. I think my kitty's will get some special hugs and food tomorrow.

Gotta spoil them.

What a lovely poem as a tribute to your pets on Valentine’s Day. I can’t imagine life without pets in it. I currently don’t have a dog sadly, only cats, but hopefully will have another in the near future. Nice job, Vidya. Great photos too.

What a sweet ode to the love of our pets. My husband's and my very first pet together was an Irish Setter, so that top photo definitely caught my eye.
