I am a writer. My passion is poetry. I feel words connect people together and help us to understand the feelings we share.
He makes her smile is a poem about how someone feels about a person he loves. She smiles in the morning. When a song plays she thinks of him. She hears his voice while dreaming. She wants his hugs and kisses before she falls asleep. Each moment she thinks of him she pictures the sparkle in his eyes.
"In Case You Didn't Know" by Brett Young
He Makes Her Smile
shines on her face each morning,
listening to words emitting from a radio
her thoughts drift to him,
quietly dreaming she hears his voice.
Her heart yearns for his hugs
with each daybreak opening her eyes,
his kisses each night before the light goes out,
his hand lovingly holding hers
when they cuddle.
In her thoughts
she can hear his laughter,
observe a sparkle shining in his eyes,
feeling the joy he brings into her life,
he makes her smile.

Yes, Ann, I too have noticed that.
Guess we should all try to do this daily, the world needs a little bit more happiness.
Thanks for reading.

If you can make someone smile, it's a gift for everyone. I've noticed that if you smile at someone in the street, they smile back and suddenly the world is a much better place, confirming my faith in the human race.

Yes, I am guilty of being a romantic. I am also a dreamer, but I love life and sharing it with someone makes it much more special.
Thank you for taking your time to read my work. I feel adding something at the end, like a song, adds to the feelings within the poem itself.
Laura Grace from Tampa, Florida on July 31, 2019:
Very nice poem, Brenda you are a romantic and that is so refreshing, and I love the fact that you add a song to your poems, this song is one of my favorite uplifting happy songs!
