Poem: Why Lord
I am a writer. My passion is poetry. I feel words connect people together and help us to understand the feelings we share.
"Life is Hard" (God is Good) by Pam Thum
Why Lord
Why Lord,
do I have tears in my eyes
when you provide me with all I need?
Give me contentment.
Why Lord,
do I feel lonely
when I know you are with me?
Give me comfort.
Why Lord,
do I think my cup is half empty
when I know you refill it?
Give me gratefulness.
Why Lord,
do you put people in my life
only to take them away?
Give me understanding.
Why Lord,
must I travel
this road alone?
Give me peace.

Lovely well-crafted and well-versed poem, Brenda. I really appreciate it. Thank you for your contribution. A little while ago I was feeling depressed myself. But to recover, one has to look within but not outside. May God bless you!

Brenda -- Beautiful poem, with an interesting question -- which only your heart may answer, not heaven.
