Poem: Unbreakable Bond Mother & Daughter

I am a writer. My passion is poetry. I feel words connect people together and help us to understand the feelings we share.

Article Summary

"Unbreakable Bond Mother & Daughter" is an article which includes 2 poems.

These came about when my niece graduated from high school and wished her mother was standing beside her.

My heart sunk, as I tried to find the right words to comfort her.

Missing Momma

My journey seems incomplete
without you here
to share this moment.

Others say you are proud,
but I feel so alone
watching others
with mothers in the crowd.

I miss you most
on days like this,
when I need your arms
to keep me safe.

I pray God opens
the gates in heaven
letting you see your little girl
cross this milestone.

Unbreakable Bond

Whenever I hear someone say
this is my first step towards a new beginning,
I search for you.

You’re supposed to be here
to help me,
but God took you away too soon.

I want to scream,
I want to shout out loud
this is so unfair,
but I’ve tried a million times
and you’re still not physically here.

My tears flow,
my heart sinks,
but I know you’re still my mother
and I’ll always be your little girl.

The moment I was born
a bond was created by heaven
that death cannot separate,
for your thoughts are in my mind
each and every moment of the day.

Love as powerful as your mother's for you leaves it own mark. To have been loved so deeply, even though the person who loved us is gone, will give us some protection forever.
