Poems-Treasures of Life and a Day at the Beach Building Sandcastles Response to Brenda Arledge’s Word Prompt-Week 47,48
I love poetry. I am a lifestyle enthusiast and like to write articles and poems on lifestyle changes that benefit people.

The soul is a treasure chest; hidden inside of it are priceless jewels.
— Matshona Dhilwayo
Brenda gave us the word prompt ‘Treasure’ for week 47. When I saw the word, the thought that immediately came to my mind was that our life is itself a treasure. We are lucky to get this life, the highest in creation. To lead a life of dignity and self-respect is the greatest treasure of all, I feel. We often waste precious time chasing after fleeting pleasures and goods.
Being productive and doing something worthwhile adds meaning to life. Life is short and time is precious. It flies by very fast. Time once spent can never be regained so we need to spend it wisely. True happiness can be found in the higher values of life such as love, peace, hope, compassion and empathy. So, my first poem is about the treasures of life and the value of our life on this planet.
Since I was not able to submit my response to word prompt but So this hub has two poems from two word prompts/47 and 48 .I hope Brenda likes it, as also my other hubber friends
Poem-Treasures of life-Response to Brenda Arledge’s Word Prompt-Week 47
Memories are treasures that can’t be stolen
They are embedded in our heart and mind
Valuable moments that cannot be brought back
We can only cherish them on recollection.
Craving only increases troubles
Satisfaction with little gives pleasure
Contentment is a hidden treasure
That brings meaning to life altogether.
Knowledge is the best treasure
Which no thief from you can steal
And never will we lack when
Blessed with this treasure.
What better treasure than
A life of self-respect and dignity
A heart of humility and kindness
Of love, laughter and faith.
Learning to treasure yourself
And to live with no regrets
To Experience the wonder and magic
Is the true essence of your life.
But the most precious treasure is time
We must spend it carefully and wisely
For we have a limited supply of it
As time lost can never be regained.
Poem-A Day at the Beach Building Sandcastles- Response to Brenda Arledge’s Word Prompt-Week 48
As I walked in the sand along the beach
I felt at home and peace within my reach
I thought to myself, is there a better destiny
Than to live appreciating the beauty of the sea.
We built castles in the sand and
Wrote our names in the sand
And gazed in amazement
As the waves washed them all away.
Sitting on the sand in the beach
Listening to the waves break pitch
With the warm breeze on my face
I felt relaxed and at peace.
You can either be a victim of the world or an adventurer in search of treasure. It all depends on how you view your life
— Paulo Coelho
Once your feet have touched the warm sun-drenched sand of the seashore you will never ever be the same.
— Patsy Gant
I can’t wait for summer every year
To escape to the beach
To lay in the clear sand
And enjoy the sun’s warm rays.
The real enjoyment is on the beach and in the encounter with the water and with the way the sand heals the soul.
— Elizabeth Berkley
A visit to the beach is always welcome
Imagining different stories in each grain of sand
Sitting quietly on the sand, breathing in the salty air
Brings sanity to my mind and replenishes my soul.
