Poem: Lost Time

I am a writer. My passion is poetry. I feel words connect people together and help us to understand the feelings we share.

Poem Summary

Lost time is a poem about how a couple can feel distance growing between them. But the hands on the clock keeps moving forward despite life's pauses. They wait on that perfect moment like when the tide washes ashore. Time seems to hesitate for a moment & they find the missing pieces of their love.

"Time Doesn't" by Cory Young

Lost Time

Distance stands between us
like an ocean surrounding an island,
hands on the clock silently tick forward
not stopping for life's pauses.

Our thoughts wait for the moment,
when the tide washes ashore,
discovering lost feelings
as the seconds appear to hesitate,
finding missing pieces of time.

Yes, time marches on no matter what the circumstances might be. There are few pauses in life.
