Poem: Time Changes the Scenery

I am a writer. My passion is poetry. I feel words connect people together and help us to understand the feelings we share.

Poem Summary

Time changes the scenery is a poem about how you realize one day that life around you has changed. You have gotten older and nothing is the same as you remember.

"Life Changes" by Thomas Rhett

Time Changes the Scenery

I don’t fit in
like I used too,
maybe age as taken its toll
or I have outgrown the scene
but I desire my time at home.

There's nothing new,
not even remotely similar
to the times we had back then,
I guess I am an old folkie
who's set in her ways.

It’s hard to see
but I suppose it’s true,
life moves on when you are content and happy
time changes the scenery.

Thank you for reading, Tiyasha.

I do believe you are right. Time definitely changes our perspective and the desires we have now are different.

Just ever so slightly you do not even realize it until later.

Thanks again.

A very real and relatable observation. I agree with Lorna, with age our way of looking and understanding the same things change. It includes our change in taste, strengthens our ideals and age and time bring about changes that sometimes we don't even realize.

Nice reminder, Lorna.

Yes with music you can be taken back..its nice to remember.

In everyday life...out in public things seem to be different.

One can pretend to fit in for the moment, but he really doesn't feel it inside his heart.

Kinda like...He would rather be at home.

I find when I listen to the music I loved years ago, it takes me back in time to that younger version of me. I still enjoy the music only in a different way. Lovely poem Brenda.
