Poem: The Silence

I am a writer. My passion is poetry. I feel words connect people together and help us to understand the feelings we share.

"How to write a Haiku Poem"

Haiku Challenge by Veronica McDonald

Once again Veronica McDonald has issued a writing challenge.
This one is to write Haiku. A fate I have never tried my hand at writing.
She says to use 3 lines, with a total of 17 syllables.
First to third line containing 5 syllables - 7 syllables - 5 syllables.

Ann,

Thank you so much!

I do enjoy writing these. I like how so few words can make a statement.

Thanks for reading.

Ann Carr from SW England on February 05, 2020:

Good haiku, Brenda. I find this form of poetry suits itself well to creating instant atmosphere and you've certainly done that.

Lorna,

Wow! Thank you so much.

I cannot imagine it being perfect, but I thank you for such kind words.

Have a wonderful day!

The lines of the poem are very powerful Brenda and I think you achieved the perfect Haiku.
