Poem: Taking the Risk

I am a writer. My passion is poetry. I feel words connect people together and help us to understand the feelings we share.

Poem Summary

Taking the risk is a poem about watching him shut down instead of taking a risk on their relationship. She understands, she feels that way sometimes. It is easier to shutdown than take a leap of faith believing in someone's love. But a cosmic connection pulls her close telling her not to give up.

"Take A Chance" by Olivia Newton John & John Travolta "

Taking the Risk

There are times she ponders
about letting her feet walk away,
as she strives to show him happiness
only to watch him slip further off into the distance.

Without warning
he shuts down,
closing off his heart,
leaving her mind bewildered.

She understands,
how one's past can shatter
cutting like glass,
making it easier to shutdown
than to take a chance.

She often feels the same way,
wanting to run,
never looking back,
but she feels a cosmic connection
pulling her close,
whispering in her ear,
telling her to stand firm and take the risk.

Misbah,

Thank you.

That's 2 votes for Love.

It is worth the risk when there is love.

Have a great day.

Peggy,

Thank you.

I believe you are right on this one.

But both people must take the risk. It can't be one sided.

Have a good night.
